The André Lemaitre Museum

André Lemaître (1909-1955) was born in Falaise. He painted some 4 000 canvases including many Normandy landscapes, ranging from Falaise to Honfleur. He was primarily inspired by nature and remains a painter of the great French tradition.

The town of Falaise pays homage to the artist through its museum, featuring 90 works, each of which reflects an aspect of his life.
Although his work is characterized by a certain unity, it is distinguished by four separate periods you can discover for yourself in this beautiful Falaise museum.

From 1st April to 30th Sept., and December : daily from 10am to 12.30 and from 1.30am to 6pm
In july and August, non stop opening from 10am to 18pm
From 1st October to 31 st March : open on week-ends, bank holidays and school holidays from 10am to 12.30 and from 1.30 to 6pm


Annual closing from 16th of january till 4 th of february
